Martlets Defeat Deerfield
With the final game on the road, the Martlets arrived with the kind of zest that has permeated each game this season. Facing Deerfield for the third time this season, the girls knew that The Big Green skaters would be working hard to protect their ice. The early back-and-forth action of the was punctuated by the lone goal of the first period coming off the steady stick of Abigail Graham '26. Deerfield tied the game early on in the 2nd frame as the match continued to be one of equal pressure from both squads. Graham found the net again at the 6 minute mark to help the team find some breathing room. Taking the 2-1 lead into the final period, the Marlets opened things up with a great upper corner shot from Liza Merrill '25 on a smooth feed from Sofia Eleuteri '28. Eleuteri then lit the lamp herself a few minutes later on two strategic passes from linemates Paige Herlihy '25 and Merrill. Taking a pass from Lily Vincent '25 less than a minute later, Graham garnered the hat trick to close out the scoring. Tilly Lynch '25 kicked out over 20 shots frustrating some of the strong Deerfield skaters. It was a great finish to a great season under the leadership of the great group of seniors!
