Martlets Defeat Berkshire
It was a great Senior Day for the eight Sixth Form skaters and manager Alexandria Goodman '25 down at Jackson Rink! It was an entertaining experience for the many fans as well! Once again, the Martlets were out of the gates at full speed as Abigail Graham ‘26 found that a wrap-around move would do the trick at just a minute and a half into the contest. A few minutes later, Co-captain Lily Vincent ‘25 scored on a nice feed from Sophia Eleuteri '28. Berkshire came back to bring the game within one, but Westminster never relinquished that early lead. Eleuteri started the scoring in the second period off the assist from Paige Herlihy ‘25. Then it was Macey Sheehan ‘'26 taking a pass from Co-captain Liza Merrill ‘25 and finding a nice opening to take the score up to 4 - 2. Berkshire kept working and brought it back to a one goal margin before Eleuteri lit the lamp a second time to carry the team into the locker room with a 5 - 3 margin. On a pass from Vincent early in the third period, Merrill closed out the scoring. Tenacious net-minding by Co-captain Tilly Lynch '25 preserved the three goal margin. Congratulations to the seniors and to the team for a very exciting win!
