Martlets Double Up Deerfield
On the Olympic Rink at ISCC once again, the JV Girls Hockey faced off against the squad from Deerfield. Abigail Graham '27 got things started early netting the puck less than a minute into the game. She scored again before the first period buzzer sounded on a nice feed from Abby Cirelli '27. Sandwiched in between Graham's goals was a great shot off the stick of Aila Van Dolah '28 having been tee'd up with a nice assist from Paige Herlihy '25. The Martlets went scoreless in the second period and Deerfield brought the score to within one. However, the sheet was all Westminster's in the final frame. With great support from Lucy Wainwright '25, Graham closed out her day with a hat trick three minutes into the period. Van Dolah lit the lamp with her second of the game after great playmaking from Liza Merrill '25 and Lily Vincent '25. Then, after having had about fifteen shots on goal through the first 30 minutes of the game, Sophia Eleuteri '28 found the back of the net off a nice pass from Adela McKinney '25 to finish the scoring. Tilly Lynch '25 was solid in net once again as the Martlets took the win column up one peg before heading off for a nice mid-winter break.
